What's new in Tracer

Colour traces of images on a white or light background could come back with layers painted white, which Remove background then deleted. Every layer now keeps its own colour, and Remove background is greyed out when there's no background to remove.

With two or more images in the rail, a Clear all tile removes them in one go, after the same confirmation as a single delete. Tracer keeps your 25 most recent images and now tells you when the list is full, instead of quietly dropping the oldest.

Every guide now ends with links to share it on Facebook, X and LinkedIn. They're plain links: nothing loads from those sites until you click one.

PNG to SVG, JPG to SVG, Image to SVG, PNG to DXF, JPG to DXF and PNG to EPS each have their own page with the converter built in, so you can drop a file and see the trace without leaving the page. All six sit under Converters in the top bar.

Tracer's privacy policy and terms of service are now published at /privacy and /terms. They set out what we collect, who we share it with and how long we keep it, and what Free and Pro include.

The blog now holds eleven guides, from PNG to DXF for laser cutting and clean SVGs for Cricut to why AI images vectorize badly. Each walks through one real job, step by step.

Tracer now lives at imagetracer.app. The app moved to /vectorize and the front page is new. Same tool, easier to find.

The whole editor was rebuilt for small screens: thumbnails scroll horizontally, presets span the full width, and tracing controls slide up in a sheet instead of squeezing into a sidebar.
